I'm Meg and I'm a twenty year-old photographer/journalist from the UK.
I started taking pictures on my Blackberry for fun, though I was always a lover of all kinds of art and knew I wanted it to be a part of my future.
When I was sixteen my auntie bought me my first 'proper' camera so I could study art in college, however illness kept me from being able to finish my course. I still fought on and photography became my therapy, and I taught myself how to expand my own skills to the point where people wanted to buy my photographs.
My passion for music drew me to concert photography, and the more pictures I took at festivals and concerts, the better I got. I felt so driven to produce better, more professional photos.
I started learning about concert photography and started a part-time photography course to learn the skills I need to become a great concert photographer.
Having gained a journalist position at a popular magazine, I found myself able to attend gigs and take photos as well as review the concerts for the magazine. This is my starting point for a journey I hope to continue.
Inspired by tour journalists such as Alex Fucking Smith and photographers such as Dieter Unrath, Adam Elmakias, and Lindsey Byrnes, I want to tour with bands and document their travels to provide insight into their world.
I want to capture the humanity of artists a well as the passion onstage that captures the attention and hearts of fans. My aim is to use art to build and strengthen the connection between artists and fans.
